This workshop provides basic critical concepts and practical rhythmic experiential training in a 2-2.5 hour session focusing on the benefits of drumming, and the benefits of working as a team through the metaphor of drum systems for the African diaspora. The drums used in the workshop are from different countries and continents. A short description about the origin of the drums and theri history is provided as well.
Experience:
Matt is experienced in the music of West Africa, Haiti, and Honduras, and has also been playing and studying percussion of Brazil and Cuba since 1994. He also plays electric bass in jazz, blues, and pop ensembles and is completing his MA from the Institute of Transpersonal psychology.
