This list is for a shared compost bin in a residential building, located in 743 Warfield Ave, Oakland, California.

What TO compost
ONLY organic materials like:
Vegetable scraps (no dressings and oils, nor price stickers)
Plant cuts (not diseased, nor with seeds or chemically fertilized)
Coffee grounds, filters and tea bags (no tags or labels)
eggshells (please crash them before adding to the compost)
Or any other appropriate non-bleached foods...

When our compost bin got completely full I was looking for a solution to avoid trashing the rest of the food scraps and yard waste we had. Once we got to re-use our waste it was very difficult to give up on it and revert to the trashing.

Since I am advocating that the Kiwi Collars are a perfect solution to make a compost bin, I decided to go for it, even though the volume of the box is more than what we needed for our household.

I met Maria when she came to pick up something we posted on Craigslist. She noticed the garden while climbing up the many stairs to our apartment.

Needless to say that she was impressed from seeing the bulk of vegetable plants on the roof top garden, here in the city of Oakland, CA.

Funny enough, roof top gardening was a topic that Maria thought about covering for a while.

As long as I remember myself I couldn't bare the taste and smell of these dark green fleshy leaves. And indeed, the Cilantro (Coriander is the seed) has a distinct taste that most people either love or hate.
